From industrial areas to holiday resorts, you define the network location - we provide the solution with our Outdoor Wi-Fi Networks.
Some people might consider Wi-Fi as a technology applicable to indoor environment only. This is not true. Even though national or local regulations vary, we have technology and competence to lay Wi-Fi coverage with a radius of 1 kilometer using only one single access point. In those countries compliant with ETSI regulations this radius is reduced to 500 meters due to the transmission power restrictions. Under FCC regulations the radius is much closer to one kilometer.
Having this kind of technology - carrier-grade Wi-Fi access points - proves an argument to a fact that Wi-Fi can actually be used as an alternative to provide last mile connection to a customer.
This technology uses 2.4 GHz frequency for Wi-Fi client connections while using either Fast Ethernet or 5 GHz radio as a backhaul. 5 GHz backhaul via point-to-point or point-to-multipoint bridge enables combining several units together and forming up a Wi-Fi network with coverage of several square kilometers. Please refer to Municipal Wi-Fi section for further information on city wide deployments.
In our opinion target verticals that may require Outdoor Wi-Fi Networks are industrial zones, airports, warehouses, logistic centers, harbors, holiday resorts, municipalities and public sector, as well as definitely telecom operators for data offloading purposes. For further information on data offloading please refer to 3G to Wi-Fi Data Offloading section of this website.
