These same estimations also include an argument that upcoming LTE technology is not going to solve the situation.
We, with our partners, would like to offer a data offloading solution which can be expected to save tremendous amounts of capacity by intelligently offloading data traffic from 3G network to an available Wi-Fi network. We acknowledge the fact that this is nothing new, but we believe we have a different approach than anyone else does.
In our solution:
1.) operator decides who to offload i.e. giving better data transfer capacity to a privileged user,
2.) operator decides when to offload i.e. offload everyone at peak hours,
3.) operator decides where to offload i.e. everyone inside a congested cell will be offloaded and
4.) operator decides the network where to offload to.
We expect our solution to ease the congestion issue operators are definitely facing, but also new ways of making profit for example offloading all those users who have just exceeded the highest price level based on the amount of transferred data.
Our solution is currently available for Google Android, Microsoft Windows 7 and Symbian. Versions supporting Blackberry and iPhone platforms are in development and according to our roadmap will be released before the end of Q2.
